Mid West Energy Pty Ltd (MWE) is developing the 200MW Perenjori Solar Thermal Power Project on a site approximately 300km north of Perth in the Mid West region of Western Australia. This project offers Western Australia an exciting opportunity to showcase a world class, large scale, solar thermal power project.

Located in the heart of the fast growing, resource rich Mid West region of WA and utilising high levels of solar radiation, the Project’s advanced and proven zero emission technology will provide clean, reliable and secure energy to industrial, commercial and residential customers. The electricity generating profile of the project ideally complements the demand profile experienced by Western Australia’s South West Interconnected System (SWIS) which must cater for significant peaks in demand during hot summer days.

Currently only 3.1% of electricity generated in Western Australian is from renewable resources, so this project’s zero emission, load following generation will make an important contribution to the challenge of meeting the 20% Renewable Energy Target by 2020.
